Poison mushroom warning for VictoriaLOCAL residents are being urged to be mindful when picking wild mushrooms, after a poison mushroom warning was issued today for Victoria.
With Autumn conditions creating ideal growing conditions in Victoria for the Death Cap fungus (Amanita Phalloides) and the Yellow Staining mushroom (Agaricus Xanthodermus).
The warning coincides with the arrival of the mushrooming season, spawned when rain encourages growth of the fungi in the still warm earth.
