Victorian pool owners are now eligible for a $200 Water Smart rebate on approved pool covers with a roller or device to assist in covering and uncovering the pool.
Mrs Hallahan said this rebate covers a large portion of the cost of a pool cover.
“During a typical summer an average of up to 205 litres of water per pool per day is lost due to evaporation, that’s equal to 37,310 litres over six months.
“A properly installed pool cover will stop up to 97% of water evaporation which means you don’t need to run the hose for 20 minutes every day to top up the pool.
“With water prices on the increase and this great rebate on offer, there’s no reason not to save money and the environment by investing in pool cover equipment.”
Pool owners can claim their rebate by visiting the Living Victoria Water Rebate Program website and downloading the relevant claim form by 30 September 2013.
