I am writing in response to the State Government’s withdrawal of funding for the Take a Break Child Care Program. The State Government must understand that occasional care centres across Victoria provide a vital service to families. This service allows mothers to do things such as go to the doctor, make appointments, re-enter the workforce, attend committee meetings, complete education courses and work on farms while their children are safely being looked after. The service empowers women to further their own prospects as well as those of their family and their community. The Take a Break Child Care Program must be reinstated.
Yours Sincerely, Kate Andrews
