MURCHISON resident, Royden James, will stand for Council at the Greater Shepparton City Council elections in October.

Mr James has had a long career in Local Government, with eight years as shire secretary/general manager of the former Shire of Rodney.

He has made it clear he will not be a ‘one-issue Councillor’. He said he firmly believes strong leadership, teamwork, a commitment to excellence in governance and sound financial management will lead to great outcomes.

Mr James nominated the importance of advocacy, innovation, support for smaller towns and rural areas, the Shepparton bypass, and the importance of acknowledging the benefits of diversity as high priorities.
