In an effort to address some of the social needs in the local community, students at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Tatura have embarked on a program that has a greater impact on their understanding of their community.

“Rather than them just putting a couple of dollars into a box, this project aims to give them a greater attachment to the giving. They will get to go shopping with their parents and pick out what they feel is needed,” said deputy principal, Matt Cameron.

“It has been transformative. The kids know that the goods will go to someone in the community although they don’t know who of course.”

The produce being collected will go to St Vincent de Paul’s Society  in Tatura for distribution to families on their lists.
