DURING the holiday break, it is important that we all take extra care on the roads to ensure the safety of our loved ones, the wider community and ourselves. Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, SES and CFA have partnered with GMCU, Triple M and The Adviser to launch the annual ‘Fatigue & Speed Kills’ campaign to ensure the welfare of all during the Christmas break.

Last year, approximately one person was killed on our roads every day between the start of December and Christmas. This is why drivers are being urged to take a break and stay awake this festive season.

GMCU CEO, Melissa Ralph said, “Doing what we can to keep local families safe on our roads, especially over the holiday breaks, is something the GMCU team are passionate about and why we have continued to run these road safety campaigns along with The Adviser for many years.

“We wish all our members and communities a very happy and safe festive season.”

Locals die on local roads and one death is way too many. Please be patient and take a break when travelling to your destinations during the Christmas and summer holidays.
