Salvation’s new faces

HUSBAND and wife team and Salvation Army Corps Officers, Lieutenant Andrew and Kristy Stringer are stepping up to the plate as new officers of The Salvation Army Shepparton Community Church, working to help transform lives and add a touch of care to members of the local community.
As lifetime members of the Salvation Army, Andrew and Kristy knew it was time to take the next step when a call from God lead them to take up the prestigious task of becoming Officers of the volunteer run service and have indeed become ambassadors for the community.
“As well as the regular church services, we are involved in providing social programs for the Shepparton community like our Hot Lunch held every Wednesday and Sally’s Garage which offers clothing and bric-a-brac at very reasonable prices.
“We have the desire to help grow the community and have plans to get local businesses involved with the Salvation Army with staff volunteer days,” Lt Andrew said.
With the festive season upon the region the Salvation Army are launching this years Christmas Appeal, collection in areas around Shepparton and are always seeking volunteers.
