LOCAL Tatura man, Brian Cocomazzo said goodbye to his beard and hair last Friday, March 15 to raise money for the World’s Greatest Shave. Mr Cocomazzo decided to grow his hair and beard over 12 months ago after cancer had taken several close people in his life and wanted to do something to help find a cure.

Mr Cocomazzo, usually a clean-shaven man, set out to raise $1,000 for the cause and ended up surpassing his goal by raising $1,200 as of shave day, with further funds raised since.

“I decided that I wanted to do something every year, whether it was just to help one person or a community of people.” Mr Cocomazzo said.

“Next year I’m hoping to participate in the MS Megaswim held in Shepparton, which raises money and awareness for those living with Multiple Sclerosis.”

To top off the great day, Stacy Cavill-Wheeler from Kyabram was just doing her shopping nearby and decided to join in as well, sitting down and shaving off her own hair for the cause.
