Photo: Alicia Zeqir.ON Wednesday, August 24, 30 riders will arrive in Shepparton during a stop over of their 800km cycle through Victoria for the state’s inaugural Ride for Sick Kids.
The ride commences on Saturday, August 20 and will finish on Friday, August 26, starting from Geelong and travelling through Colac, Ballarat, Ararat, Bendigo, Shepparton and Seymour before finishing in Melbourne.
100 percent of funds raised will go directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities, providing a ‘home away from home’ for families with a seriously ill child undergoing treatment.
To celebrate the riders arrival in Shepparton, the Goulburn Valley Hotel will host the ‘Ride for Sick Kids’ Fundraising Dinner on the evening of August 24, starting at 6.30pm. The night will include a panel hosted by Craig (Hutchy) Hutchison and will feature AFL Legends, Peter Daicos, Nathan Thompson and Terry Wallace.
Local sporting icon, Wes Cusworth will MC the event and all proceeds from the evening will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
McDonald’s Shepparton Licensee, Karen Pearse said, “This is such an important cause. If anyone has ever known someone in a position, or ever been in a position to need the assistance of Ronald McDonald House, then you will understand just how much these services mean to a family in their time of need.”
“We are really encouraging everyone to get behind the dinner, get a table together and purchase tickets. It will be a great fun night out and in support of such an important cause.”
