A Shepparton man is expected to be charged after Police were alerted to his dangerous driving after it was recorded on camera and uploaded to Facebook.
The 26 year old Shepparton man is expected to be charged on summons with a range of traffic offences, including driving in a manner dangerous, careless driving and improper use of a motor vehicle.
Shepparton Police Crime Prevention Officer, Leading Senior Constable Glen Gibson said, “Police viewed a video of the man doing a 55 second burnout which had been posted on the popular social media site, with the incident allegedly occurred at the intersection of Euroa and Mitchell Roads, Kialla East on October 13. The Facebook posts and video were passed onto police by concerned members of the community.
“Police were then able to track down the driver responsible.
“Information regarding hoon driving on isolated Goulburn Valley roads continues to be passed onto police. The community has indicated intolerance to such driving and offenders will be identified,
investigated and prosecuted. Police would like to thank the community for their vigilance and commitment to reducing road trauma.”
The video footage has now been removed from Facebook.
