Dear Editor,
Your front page story “Spotlight on public transport” shows the number of daily train services to Melbourne from Ballarat (24), Bendigo (18), Traralgon (18) and Shepparton (3).
It is not only frequency, but speed and time taken when sprinter trains travel at speeds up to 160kph. Shepparton trains travel at greatly reduced speeds due to the condition of the railway track.
If the railway was upgraded to take sprinter trains more customers would use it, and more development opportunities would be made with more frequent and faster services.
Yours sincerely,
Norman Sims
