Sporting clubs share in over $105,000 in grants

CENTRAL Park/St Brendan’s Cricket Club is the big winner of round two of the Our Sporting Future funding program, being awarded $29,129.70 out of the $105,341.42 of total grants awarded.

As part of the minor category, Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve Committee of Management will receive $11,129.22 for air-conditioning and ventilation works, Tatura Lawn Tennis Club will receive $9,130 for a facilities upgrade, Murchison-Toolamba Football Netball Club will receive $12,650 toward a netball family friendly focus program, Northern Victoria Show Jumping Club will receive $3,300 toward future proofing its World Cup Quality Arena,

Katandra Bowling Club will receive $6,306.85 to go towards an Eagles Storage Shed and Tallygaroopna Bowling Club will receive $13,457.12 toward club improvements.

As part of the sports aid category, Shepparton Soccer Club will receive $5,500 towards a MiniRoos Kick Off for Girls and Regional Girls Development Program, Shepparton Junior Soccer Association will receive $2,176.15 for a First Kinderoos Program, Tallygaroopna Football Netball Club will receive $1,769.33 toward a Tallygaroopna Junior Girls project, Shepparton Athletics Club will receive $4,055 for a Walk Up and Run Athletics project and Shepparton Swans Football Netball Club will receive $2,967.80 to go toward the development of a Strategic, Operational and Participation Growth Plan.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said she was pleased Council can continue to support local sporting clubs and organisations.

“We hope this financial support will allow sporting clubs and organisations in Greater Shepparton to prosper and continue to grow,” she said.

“Our support in round two reaches right across Greater Shepparton from Tatura to Murchison and Katandra to Tallygaroopna.

“Thank you to all clubs and organisations who submitted an application and congratulations to those who were successful.”

Applications for funding are assessed in two rounds annually, with the first round closing at the end of July each year and the second round closing in February each year.
