Winter has officially begun and with it, the cold, miserable weather. To make it easier to get out of bed on those frosty mornings, or to keep you warm throughout the night, we’ve put together some tips on how to keep your home warm without spending too much on electricity.

Invest in insulation

If your house is freezing in the winter and terribly hot in the summer, insulation can help. Insulation helps the heat stay in while also saving you on your power bill. It will also keep your home cool in summer.

Fill the gaps

Gaps around windows and under doors can contribute to the loss of warm air created by your heating. Filling in these gaps, as well as blocking off chimneys and closing off areas of the home that aren’t in use can make a huge difference to the heating in your home.

Cover your floors

Adding a rug to your wooden or tiled floors can not only add some colour to the room but will also help keep the heat in. Your feet will thank you when you get out of bed on those cold winter mornings!
