EARLIER this year, four senior VCAL students from GOTAFE, Tiahne Ward, Jordan Baxter, Katie Green and Bryce O’Dwyer, took the lead in running a social enterprise, Dim Sim Wednesdays, helping to raise $1,500 that was donated to The Haven last week.

Along with the help of classmates, the four students raised the funds for the local youth hub, which offers a safe, relaxed space for children and young adults, aged 12 – 24 years, where they can enjoy a meal, join in activities and receive assistance with their homework.

Tiahne said, “We felt The Haven was the perfect organisation to raise funds for; some of our classmates use this service.

“It’s such an important place, we want to see it continue to help children and young adults just like us.”
