Stoate breaks course record

THE Shepparton Runners Club was well represented at the 10th Numurkah Fun Run on the weekend. The club had several members participate in the 5km and 10km race.

Nathan Stoate took out first place in the 5km race in a time of 16 minutes and 53 seconds, creating a new course record for the event in its 10th year.

Aiden Ross, one of the clubs youngest members, finished second in his age category for 5km, with a time of 24 minutes, 40 seconds.

The 10km fun run saw many more podium finishes for the club. Cousins Rory Urquart and Mason Sleeth placed first and second in the male U16 category.

SRC coach, Chris Armstrong placed first with a time of 36 minutes and 57 seconds, with fellow club member Harry Ukich placing second with a time of 39 minutes and 52 seconds.
