It’s always nice to see the community coming together to help those in need. This time of year is always a little tougher for some families, which means that local groups like Shepparton Foodshare are in need of more supplies.

Shepparton’s ANZ team have been contributing to Shepparton Foodshare over the past six months. They responded to Foodshare’s call out for businesses and organisations to help out with much-needed food items that are usually hard to get, such as UHT milk, pasta, rice and personal hygiene products.

Shepparton Foodshare operations co-ordinator, Bec Nicoll said, “Each month Jessica Daniel from ANZ contacts me to find out if there’s anything in particular that we desperately need, and inevitably it’s UHT milk. With thanks to Jess and the ANZ staff, we’ve had a steady supply of milk for the past few months.”

Shepparton ANZ relationship manager, Jessica Daniel said, “ANZ’s purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. Our staff have really gotten behind the food drive initiative with a collection of monetary donations occurring each month and then a food shop completed of the most in need items required by Foodshare.

“This demonstrates our staff’s awareness of local initiatives and their ongoing willingness and commitment to contribute to help our local community thrive.”

The generosity of local businesses like ANZ is truly wonderful and a sign of the strong community spirit that exists in the Goulburn Valley.
