A big thank you is due to 2,145 loyal SPC Ardmona Factory Sales customers who raised $50,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Good Friday Appeal.
The final donation included $48,986 which was the proceeds of the purchased goods on the day and we are grateful to those customers who made the effort to come in and shop for a good cause at such short notice.
The money could not have been raised without the support of SPC Ardmona cannery and our wonderful staff, who gave up their Good Friday and embraced the day with enthusiasm and a constant smile knowing that their efforts were for a great cause.
Special thanks to factory sales warehouse manager Dean Gauci and family for being the face of the fundraiser and making the trip to Melbourne to take part in the telethon.
The Royal Children’s Hospital is a great Victorian institution parents hope they will never need, but each year hundreds of Goulburn Valley children do have to go there for specialist medical care.
Shepparton’s record appeal total should not stand for long.
With the help of the business leaders, the community and media friends who supported our campaign, why not aim higher and join forces to make Shepparton the number one regional supporter of the Good Friday Appeal.
Taking up the challenge would not only provide more for the RCH, but it would reinforce to the wider world the true nature of our community rather than the negative image created by isolated ugly incidents that generally make news elsewhere.
