WITH a keen eye for cosmetic detail, balance and symmetry, Dr Shah Awang (FRACGP) has pursued his passion into cosmetic surgery.

A qualified GP, with almost a decade’s experience, Dr Awang has recently undertaken further cosmetic training with a dermatologist and plastic surgeon in Melbourne, and holds a Certificate of Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer and a Diploma in Dermatology.

“I enjoy beauty and aesthetics, and working in this field I am able to make people happy,” Dr Awang said.

His knowledge in facial cosmetic medicine extends particularly to the processes of the ageing face and how to halt and reverse these effects and the science behind what constitutes a beautiful or handsome face.

“I am able to use this understanding to enhance the universal attractiveness of all faces.”

Dr Awang is keen to promote the latest technology in thread facial lifts, which offers a cheaper and less invasive alternative to more traditional methods.

“Silhouette Soft is a new technique out of the USA, which uses sutures to stimulate collagen production.
“The procedure takes only 30 minutes, under local anesthetic, and the effects last approximately one and a half years.”

Dr Awang’s other specialty area is the diagnosis and removal of both benign and cancerous skin lesions.

“This can often be a very complex procedure and it’s important to have the training and experience to minimise scars, particularly on the face.”
