Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad have arrested three people as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Shepparton man, Umit Bolat.

The 45-year-old was last seen about 5:30pm on Sunday, August 12 in the vicinity of Wyndham Street, Shepparton.

Yesterday Police conducted a number of search warrants in Shepparton and surrounding areas.

A 29-year-old man and 26-year-old man, both from Lemnos, and a 44-year-old Ardmona man were arrested and are currently in custody.

Missing Persons Squad detectives and Police Search and Rescue will today continue their search for Umit in the Shepparton and Cobram areas.

Umit was reported missing by his sister on August 21 after failing to keep a number of appointments.

He has a highly distinctive yellow Holden commodore ute with registration YOC 741.

About 10am on Tuesday, August 14 police located the yellow ute parked in a supermarket carpark on Benalla Road, Shepparton.

The car was unlocked and the keys were still in the ignition.

Umit is described as 165cm in height with a solid build, short dark hair with an olive complexion and of southern European appearance.
