Do you know someone who should be given the title of Citizen of the Year or Young Citizen of the Year?

Nominations are now open with Greater Shepparton City Council across the Arcadia, Dookie, Mooroopna, Murchison, Shepparton, Tatura and Toolamba areas.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Sustainable Development, Geraldine Christou, encouraged residents to nominate friends, neighbours or colleagues who had volunteered their time to make a difference in their community.

“These awards are an opportunity to say thank you, and give people the recognition they deserve,” Ms Christou said.

“We all know people who just get out there and make things happen, lend a hand and go above and beyond their call of duty when it comes to supporting people in our community.

“Council’s Australia Day Awards are a fitting tribute for the quiet achievers of Greater Shepparton. I urge anyone who has ever been in awe of someone’s contribution, commitment and dedication to nominate them for the 2019 awards.”

Nominations close for Murchison on 21 November 2019 and for all other towns on 1 December 2019.

Nomination  forms are available on the Greater Shepparton City Council website.
