Time to frock up

It is time to let your hair down and join the party this Sunday, November 3 in Queens Garden where the OUTintheOPEN festival for the eighth year in a row is drawing a host of entertainment and stall holders to celebrate LGBTIQA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual) pride and community diversity.

Live music has been a strong focal point of the festival and this year is no different with bands such as Melbourne electronic trio Huntly, and up-and-coming post punk Wollongong band Cry Club. The entertainment will also feature plenty of local performers who will cover an assortment of different genres, including Past Present, Jeffry’s Cabbage, Parmy Dhillon and the New Science, The Murks, Phoebe Belle and Bailey Slade.

Holding it all together throughout the day will be Melbourne fairy flossy, Krystal Ring getting fresh with the crowd.

The carnival day will also feature a Wizard of Oz theme where Queens Garden will be decorated in the fashion of the movie and attendees are encouraged to come dressed up as their favorite characters. Entry will be a gold coin with all proceeds going to GV Pride.

Carnival day has a no-glass policy and is a drug free event.

OUTintheOPEN Carnival Day will be held from 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday, November 3 at Queens Gardens, Shepparton. For more information and a host of other Festival events, head to outintheopen.org.au or check out OUTintheOPEN Festival Shepparton on Facebook and Instagram.
