ON Sunday, GV Squash & Racquetball Club hosted 55 junior squash players from Victoria and New South Wales who competed in the Goulburn Valley Junior Age Squash Tournament, with Haley Gorringe from GV Squash & Racquetball Club winning her division in her first ever junior competition.

Players were graded and the competition was run in nine divisions from A Grade to D Reserve.

Goulburn Valley Squash & Racquetball Club president, Christian Lecompte said, “This is the second of six junior age events run by Squash & Racquetball Victoria during the year and is open to all players aged under 23 years.

“Two events (State Titles and Xmas Cup) are played according to age and gender while the other four events are graded according to ability. Each event also includes points towards a Junior State Ranking.”

The next tournament will be held in Melton on April 14.
