Traffic lights and road signs needed

Hello

I agree with Geoff Dobson totally about the intersection of Graham Sreet and Numurkah Road. I used to live off Verney Road and had to take kids to Gowrie Street and Wanganui Secondary College. I had to travel down Graham Street and turn left into Numurkah Road to take kids at school and that wasn’t really yesterday because the kids are now 42 and 40 this year and they have kids of the age they were then.

So it was really very hard even to turn left back in the 80s. So, I think lights are well overdue. It was impossible to turn right because the traffic was so heavy even then and people take risks because they get sick of waiting to turn right.

Also I have got two intersections in Mooroopna to make it three. First one is on Echuca Road when drivers come out of the BP Service Station. Now we live in Knight Street, Mooroopna and we are always getting abused when we turn right from Knight Street into Echuca Road because most drivers are not aware that they do not have right of way coming out of a drive way of BP Service Station. We have the right of way turning right into Echuca Road but they are really very intimidating and they are taking the right of way, which they don’t have. We are really going to be getting involved in a car accident because of the behaviour of most drivers that come out and do the left hand turn.

We get called silly old buggers, why didn’t you read the licence book and learn the rules. My husband got really abused, and she was really nasty when he took his right of way. He was a bit shaken but she passed by him, screaming at him about how he shouldn’t have a licence and when he got a word in he told her that she was coming out of a private driveway and we were on a street.

“Maybe you could get someone to tell you the rules, as obviously you unable to read.” These kinds of incidents occur daily. I don’t know which government department is responsible for this kind of thing that will end in an accident if signage is not put on the front of the service station.

Please make it a priority to look at before someone gets hurt. The road rage is terrible and I don’t take my right of way because of the chance of an accident. Number two is the intersection of McLennan Street (the main street) and Mill Street is another one that is really an accident waiting to happen because travelling south in Mill Street, it is impossible for you to see any cars coming unless you are really halfway across the main street. Before you can see if anything is coming from the west to the east. And number 3 is the turn into McDonalds from the Main Road is dangerous because you are travelling along at the speed limit when suddenly the car in front of you suddenly breaks without indicating that they are going to turn into McDonald’s and if you have got to brake quickly. You just wait for the vehicle behind you to run into the back of your nice new car. There are really quite a few but these are the worst ones. Maybe coming out of Coles in Echuca Road Mooroopna it needs lights because it is really hard to turn right into Echuca Road?
