DRIVE-IN cinema is returning to the region, but not in the same capacity you’d expect!

Next Saturday, February 23, children will be given a chance to build their own DIY box car, which they can then sit in to watch a movie on the big screen at the SPC Kidstown ‘drive-in cinema.’

From 7pm, Enchanted Rainbow will be at SPC Kidstown with all the necessary equipment required to help build the best box car ever, which you can proudly pull up alongside other motorists at the cinema.

Then at dusk over by the Peppercorn Gardens, the cinema will start screening the 2017 film ‘Wonder’ for everyone to enjoy. Starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, ‘Wonder’ is a gorgeous family movie combining drama and comedy to deliver an inspirational message of hope, family, individuality and determination.

Greater Shepparton City Council Healthy Communities Officer, Carmen Nicholson said, “This is such an exciting night for everyone. ‘Wonder’ is an incredibly important family movie and it will be wonderful to see this great flick in the stunning setting at our ‘drive-in cinema.’

“There’s going to be ice cream and popcorn available on the night, as well as picnic hampers. The picnic hampers are going to be pretty popular, so to secure one, please call SPC Kidstown beforehand on 5831 4213.

“To ensure comfort, please remember to bring snacks and drinks, a picnic chair, blankets and mosquito spray.”
