MAJOR renewal and upgrade works were undertaken at the Kyabram Northern Oval in 2016 in consultation with the committee of management. However, upon completion, St Augustine’s Junior Football Club expressed concern about the orientation of the oval and the goal ends being located in close proximity to Tisdall Road. Their concerns were for the safety of the players having to retrieve balls kicked out of the reserve onto the road or the neighbouring property.
The project will involve adding nets behind the goals, as well as a renovation of the existing storage shed which will include the addition of a skillion to securely house mowers and other machinery undercover.
Campaspe Shire Council will provide project management for the works, while St. Augustine’s Junior Football Club alongside oval user groups will fund the installation of the nets and renovation of the shed.
