Warm and wet spring ahead

Farmers in the Goulburn Valley can look forward to a good  start to the year with the La Niña in the Pacific bringing a wetter than average spring weather pattern.

The Bureau of Meteorology has released its ‘2020 spring outlook’, showing much of Australia has a high likelihood of above average rainfall in the coming months driven by changes in sea surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific and Indian oceans.

Higher than average spring temperatures are also predicted, especially at the start of spring through until mid-September.

While spring is looking good, winter rainfall is lower than average although looking at the reserves in the dams and the height of the Goulburn River at the moment, you would be forgiven in thinking there had been enough already.
