POLICE have released a face image of a man who they are wishing to speak to in relation to an assault that took place on September 5, which left a 29 year old man with facial injuries and broken bones.
The man police wish to speak to is described as being perceived to be of southern European or Middle Eastern appearance, in his late teens, approximately 172cm tall and of athletic build.
Investigators have been told the man has bushy eyebrows and a prominent dimple/cleft on his chin.
It is believed a man was walking south on Streeton Drive, Shepparton between 9:30pm and 10:30pm when he was approached by three males.
An altercation broke out between the group, with one of the men allegedly punching the victim to the head several times.
The group of men ran north on Streeton Drive following the incident, while the victim was taken to hospital.
Shepparton CIU’s Senior Constable Peter Aitken said, “Any information members of the public can provide to us, no matter how big or small, could help solve this case.
“The victim ended up spending over a week in a Melbourne hospital and has had to undergo extensive facial surgery as a result of the assault.
“We’ve released a face image of a man we wish to speak to and would encourage anyone who recognises the man, or indeed the man himself, to contact Crime Stoppers.”
