WOMEN across Greater Shepparton are being given the opportunity to partake in Women Only Swimming at Aquamoves as part of the ‘This Girl Can – Vic’ initiative.
Held on the first Saturday of every month from 5:30pm until 7:30pm, the women only swim days are extremely important to many within the community. During the sessions, women can enjoy use of Aquamoves’ indoor aquatic facilities, with access to the 25m, leisure and hydrotherapy pools, as well as the spas and sauna.
Greater Shepparton City Council acting active living manager, Belinda Conna said, “Women who, for a whole range of reasons, would not normally visit a leisure facility, are now coming along to enjoy the aquatic facilities, engage in physical activity and make new friends where they feel comfortable and relaxed under the care of qualified female staff.
“This initiative is designed to empower women to improve their health and wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment. We encourage women of all ages and abilities to come along and enjoy the aquatic facilities on offer.”
The next session will take place this weekend on July 6 and all women are welcome, with boys under the age of five also allowed access to the event. Entry prices are $6.60 for adults and $4.30 for children. For more information, visit www.aquamoves.com.au or phone 5832 9400.
