THE 2022 Fairley Leadership Program cohort explored themes of Health & Wellbeing in Shepparton. Hosted by The University of Melbourne at the Department of Rural Health, the group of future leaders heard from local experts to further their knowledge of health-related community issues and strategies.

“We’re excited to have delved into this topic and provide another opportunity for the 2022 Fairley Leadership cohort to network with and learn from industry leaders,” said Goulburn Murray Community Leadership executive officer, Nathan Bibby.

“Clearly our health systems have been, and still are, under enormous pressure since the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s more important than ever for our future leaders to better understand our health systems and the challenges they face. We’re incredibly grateful to all of leaders that shared wisdom with this year’s Fairley cohort, with a special thanks to The University of Melbourne for hosting us and Primary Care Connect for sponsoring the day,” added Nathan.

“This program day was designed to educate this year’s cohort across the hugely complex industry of Health. We were all very lucky to hear from a range of local leaders in the industry, really demonstrating the important role community-minded leaders should play in supporting our health systems. We also wanted to highlight the importance of individual wellbeing, and personal strategies around mental health,” said Fairley Leadership Program, program and strategy manager Vicki Scott.

Applications for the 2023 program are opening soon. For more information on the program, visit the Goulburn Murray Community Leadership website www.gmcl.org.au
