ARMED Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery, which occurred at the Mooroopna Club.
It will be alleged that a man armed with a large kitchen knife entered the premises in Fairway Drive, Mooroopna, at around 10.50pm on Thursday, January 6.
Once inside, the man allegedly confronted members of staff and made demands for cash before leaving the scene with a quantity of money.
No staff members were physically injured during the incident.
Police executed a search warrant at a Shepparton address on Friday, where a 28-year-old Shepparton man was arrested without incident.
He has since been charged with armed robbery and is expected to be remanded to face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on January 17.
A 22-year-old Shepparton man has also been arrested. He was later released pending further enquiries.
