GENESISCARE has marked the delivery of 50,000 radiation therapy treatments in Shepparton, almost seven years after opening the region’s first radiation therapy centre.
The centre provides local access to cancer treatment, reducing the need for patients to travel to Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga or Melbourne.
GenesisCare Radiation Oncologist Dr Grace Ong said the milestone highlighted the importance of providing cancer care closer to home.
Member for Shepparton Kim O’Keeffe MP and Greater Shepparton Mayor Cr Geoff Akers attended the centre to mark the milestone.
