This year, like many things this year will be a little different to normal years and so the things people will do with the fathers will also be different. For some, particularly if they are confined to aged care facilities, they may not even be able to visit, much like Mother’s Day was interrupted with a lockdown then.
More often than not, many people will present their father with a gift and a card. The gifts can range from the simple to the outrageous, a box of chocolate to a chance to swim with sharks.
Normally, organisations around the country might organise an event, a fun run to raise money for a cause such as prostate cancer or some other such activity. This year these will all be missed so it is incumbent on people to look to other ways in which they can celebrate the day with their fathers.
In the absence of everything else, a simple phone call and a message of love will often be enough and the charities will still be there and still able to accept a donation if that appeals to you.
