THE Committee for Greater Shepparton was formed to unite the regions business and community population in driving policy changes at a Local, State and Federal Government level.

Australia made has never been more necessary as we found during the pandemic when supplies of some essential items fell into short supply creating panic buying and hoarding by various sectors.

During Australia Made Week, a panel of manufacturers will discuss changes to the industry since COVID-19 and what steps the various levels of governments need to make to assist manufacturing in the region.

CEO of the Committee for Greater Shepparton, Sam Birrell, said, “COVID-19 has made us appreciate our sovereign manufacturing capability. Many people would be surprised at the range of products manufactured here in Shepparton, from tomato paste to firelighters, to snack foods and to cleaning products.

“Australia Made Week will be an opportunity to inform the public just how much manufacturing takes place right here in Shepparton.”
