AFTER presenting an extraordinarily successful annual concert in June, the Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra (GVCO) are preparing music for smaller ensembles and individual items for a special Chamber Concert Series to be held on the Sunday afternoons of August 28, September 4, and September 11, from 2pm at Eastbank.
The GVCO is comprised of many talented musicians who delight in exploring a broad range of repertoire that is written specifically for small groups or individual performances. These works demonstrate their musicianship and the fun they derive from performance and music-making with friends.
Amongst items featured at these concerts will be wind ensembles, Jazz with Brian Matthew and Wade Gregory. Carole McGregor will intrigue audiences with her electric violin loop performance and Charlotte Drinnan will accompany clarinettist, Carissa Lee, and perform in a trio with Eric Anderson and Sandy Sexton.
GVCO has participated in two workshops with John Noble from Orchestra Victoria. It will perform music from composers GVCO has not performed previously, in a refreshing range of styles.
