ON September 11, Girl Guides, leaders and other members of the Guiding fraternity attended a service to dedicate and remember its faith awareness, as part of the promise and law of Guiding.
Shepparton Salvation Army corps officer Captain Karyn Wishart gave a warm welcome to all. Zoe then ceremoniously brought in the Guiding World Flag that was accepted by Captain Karyn, who then proceeded to explain all the symbols and parts on the flag and their meanings.
Dinah Reeve then gave an overview of Guiding, its origins and founding that Guiding Australia began in 1927 and currently has 19,000 members. Guides have always taken part in these services, and after some hymn singing, Ruby read a passage from the Bible and The Captain’s address was mainly centered around young people.

More singing and reflections, and at the service end, the flag was handed back to Zoe who walked it out with much dignity. A lovely lunch was served, and all congregation mingled with Guiding members.
