DR Julia Cornwell McKean has been appointed as a Board Member of GV Health. Julia’s three-year appointment, by the Victorian Minister for Health, comes after a rigorous interview process, which saw 22 applicants for the position.

“I am delighted to be appointed as a board member at GV Health. My motivation stems from an opportunity to make a difference in our community,” said Julia.

“There is an increasing disparity of access to health services in regional and metro areas, and bridging that gap is vital. Attracting health professionals to rural areas is key, but so are alternative methods in the interim such as extending the use of telehealth for GPs, for example.”

A Doctor of Philosophy, Julia and holds affiliations with several institutes. She is a Wiradjuri woman and is proud to reside on the lands of the Bpganerang people on the Victorian/NSW border at Barooga.
