AUSTRALIAN musician, Joe Matera, who has local connections performing in Shepparton in the 90s with the band, On the Prowl, recently signed to iconic Australian record label, Possum Records for the worldwide release of his new album, The Lone Runner.
“I’m honoured to be joining the artist roster of Possum Records,” said Matera. “It’s great to find a home for my music, and one where my music will be given it’s due with support and belief, something that Possum Records CEO, Philip Israël firmly established from the moment my music caught his ear. I’m looking forward to working together with Philip and his label.”
Better known musically for his guitar driven pop-rock music, the new all-instrumental album sees Matera taking a left turn on his musical evolution path, with a cocktail of sounds that delve into electronica, beats, guitar and synths.
Featuring some previously released material that was only available digitally, along with newly recorded material, The Lone Runner includes the SBS Chill Radio staple, Brick by Brick, which was voted #12 of the Top 100 Chilliest Tracks of 2023 by SBS Chill Radio.
The Lone Runner will be available to purchase from record stores and available to stream online from March 17.
