THE GOULBURN Valley Country Music Festival returns to the Shepparton Showgrounds for its second annual show this weekend, bringing with it some of the biggest names in country music.
“I’m really excited and when I saw the line-up with Kasey Chambers there as well as some really good friends like The Wolfe Brothers, I was biting at the bit to get out there and do this gig,” said Troy Cassar-Daley.

“We’re going to make sure we bring the A-Game to the show. I’ve been touring with Ian Moss at the moment, and I think a bit of that Cold Chisel vibe will find its way into the set, because we’ve been playing pretty loud every show.”
Acknowledging the festival’s ‘Local Country Showcase’, that will see local artists Katie Stroud and Timothy Cannon share the stage with the main acts, Troy said, “I always love encouraging the next generation and the ones below them to come through and enjoy this genre of music, but when I hear the good things they’re doing locally like running competitions for musicians, it really puts a spring in their step and I want to say I’m appreciative to be part of a festival that nurtures that too.”
Even more non-musical elements have been added to this years’ festival, including line dancing at 3-4pm and Freestyle Motocross (FMX) displays running at 5pm and 6.10pm.
“I think that’s awesome that we can broaden the whole country music basting, because that makes for a great atmosphere and to me, that’s what these things should be about, it should be about the atmosphere,” said Troy.
Don’t miss him and these great acts in the area for one-night only. You can still purchase tickets to the GV Country Music Festival and find out more at goulburnvalleycountrymusicfestival.com.au
