FLOOD WARNING ISSUED

Vic Emergency issued a flood watch for the Seven and Castle Creeks on Monday afternoon, with minor flooding possible in the southern parts of the Goulburn Valley from Tuesday morning.

“A trough and cold front is forecast to enter western Victoria on Tuesday morning, reaching central districts during the early afternoon before crossing eastern Victoria during the evening,” the alert said.

“Widespread showers, thunderstorms and possible rain are forecast to affect the Flood Watch area from early Tuesday morning. Daily rainfall totals of 40 to 60 millimetres, with isolated totals of up to 100 millimetres, are possible over elevated areas of the Flood Watch area.

“Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet after recent rainfall. River and creek levels are elevated within some of the catchments.

“River and creek level rises are likely, with areas of minor flooding possible across the Flood Watch area from Tuesday morning.”

The area on alert includes Euroa, Violet Town, Miepoll, Karramomus, Caniambo and parts of Arcadia, Kialla East, Kialla West and Kialla Central.
