CONTINUING their run of good form, the Goulburn Valley Volleyball Association (GVVA) served up a stellar performance at the Country Championships in Bendigo on the long weekend.

Both GVVA’s teams made the Grand finals, with the Women’s team winning gold and the Men’s team winning silver. The result for the two teams meant GVVA won the Chairman’s Trophy in a tie with Volleyball Ballarat, a feat neither association had achieved before.

The last time a Goulburn Valley team won gold at Country Championships was 36 years ago in Men’s Division 2, a Goulburn Valley women’s team has never before won a gold medal in the history of Victorian Country Champs.

GVVA Men’s setter, John Patelesio, also made the All Stars team as best setter in Div 3, out of 12 Regional Teams.
