Since June 1, Aussies have helped fund 30,000 meals for hungry pets through an inaugural Feed It Forward campaign run by Pets of the Homeless, with the goal of funding 80,000 meals by Monday, June 29.
The charity Pets of the Homeless says growing numbers of vulnerable Victorians are relying on pet food support services to feed their pets and avoid surrendering them, with many facing the impossible choice between feeding themselves or their animals.
“We are seeing first-hand how deeply the cost-of-living crisis is affecting our community,” said Yvonne Hong, Founder and CEO of Pets of the Homeless.
