WE want to encourage our kids to play sport, watch their heroes and favourite teams play the games they love. Sadly, it’s almost impossible to watch, listen to, and attend sporting events without a bombardment of gambling ads.
Primary Care Connect (PCC) is proud to be teaming up with Love the Game to encourage local sporting clubs to join almost 600 clubs across Victoria already taking a stand against sports betting promotion.
Local sporting clubs across the region are invited to show their commitment to community wellbeing by joining the Love the Game Sporting Club Program. Thanks to PCC, for a limited time, sporting clubs could score an authentic Collingwood AFL Men’s jersey signed by the entire playing group.

The Victorian Government-backed initiative supports sporting clubs, big and small, to reduce the influence of gambling in sport and help young people enjoy sport free from betting promotion.
PCC’s Gambler’s Help Community Engagement Officers, Freddy Thuruthikattu and Arkid Shirokaj, are excited to see more local sporting clubs sign up to Love the Game.
“We’d love to see more sporting organisations putting the focus back on sport, teamwork and community rather than gambling promotion,” said Arkid.
By joining Love the Game, clubs show their communities that sport can be family-friendly and free from gambling promotion. As an added incentive to join, Love the Game member clubs have access to free tools and resources, and opportunities to score merch packs and ‘money can’t buy’ experiences and rewards.
Joining is free and signing up only takes a few minutes. Visit www.lovethegame.vic.gov.au/join to complete the membership form and tell us how your club loves the game, not the odds. The best answer wins. Entries close on Monday, August 31.
