ABORIGINAL and Torres Strait Islander young people across the Goulburn Valley can be recognised for their achievements when nominations open for the annual Ganbina Youth Achievement Awards.
The awards celebrate young people excelling across education, employment and training, recognising the determination, leadership and success of those building their futures.
Nominations are open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people who are in Year 7 or above, are 25 or younger by December 31, 2026, are from or living in the Goulburn Valley, and are actively engaged in full-time education, employment or training.
Education Achievement Awards recognise outstanding students from Year 7 to Year 12, while Employment Achievement Awards celebrate young people in full-time work, traineeships and apprenticeships.
Training Achievement Awards recognise those undertaking further education, including Certificate qualifications, higher education pathways and university degrees.
The prestigious Adrian Appo OAM Youth of the Year Award will also be presented to the highest-scoring Youth Achievement Award recipient, honouring Ganbina’s founding CEO and his contribution to the organisation and its young people.
Applications open Monday, September 14 and close at close of business Friday, October 16.
Finalists will be invited to the Ganbina Youth Achievement Awards Dinner Presentation on Friday, November 13, where their achievements will be celebrated alongside family, community members, supporters and local leaders.
