As spring storms return, health experts are warning that a surge in airborne pollen could trigger those prone to asthma attacks, and increase the health risk for those with hay fever.
The Goulburn Valley Public Health Unit is urging those with asthma and hay fever to prepare now before pollen levels and thunderstorms cause havoc for their health.
GVPHU Clinical Director Dr Will Cross outlines the importance of managing your asthma and setting up a reliable action plan.

“If you have asthma or seasonal hay fever, now is the time to make sure you are prepared, speak to your GP about updating your asthma action plan and make sure you have your prescribed medication available and know how to use it.”
In preparation for the unpredictable spring weather, be sure to check pollen and weather forecasts to stay up to date with the conditions and plan your day accordingly.
See your GP to update your action plan, know how to take your medication as prescribed and learn asthma first aid to make sure you and the people around stay safe.
