National Piano Award arrives next week
SHEPPARTON will soon become the centre of Australian piano, with 14 of the country’s most talented young pianists arriving at Riverlinks Eastbank next week to compete for more than $75,000 in prize money.
From October 5-10, the Australian National Piano Award will bring together finalists from across Australia and overseas, with a week of recitals showcasing some of the nation’s most promising emerging classical musicians.
Finalists have been selected through a rigorous national audition process and will be challenged across an extensive solo repertoire, demonstrating technical skill, artistic interpretation and musical depth.
The award has also become an important launching pad for emerging Australian pianists, with past finalists going on to establish international careers and receive critical acclaim.
With the first performances just days away, the 2026 Australian National Piano Award is set to put the region firmly in the spotlight and give audiences the chance to hear some of Australia’s brightest young classical musicians.
Solo recitals will be held at Riverlinks Eastbank from Monday, October 5 until Thursday, October 1, from 1pm to 7.30pm. Tickets are $15 or $10 for concession card holders.
The semi-final will take place Friday, October 9 from 12pm, priced at $25 or $20 for concession card holders.
The Australian National Piano concludes with the grand final and prize presentation on Saturday, October 10, costing $30 or $35 for concession card holders.
Tickets can be purchased covering the entire week of the Awards, including access to all solo recitals, the semi-final and grand final, costing $148 or $105 for concession card holders.
