THE R U OK? Conversation Convoy stopped in Shepparton last Wednesday, October 14, bringing its message of connection and awareness around suicide prevention, to the Goulburn Valley community as part of the 120-day-long national tour.
Community members were invited to a free barbecue lunch on the corner of Maude and Vaughan streets, where local service providers and R U OK? ambassadors shared practical advice on supporting friends, family and colleagues.
As part of the tour, the convoy is travelling to many regional communities across Australia, encouraging people to start meaningful conversations and recognise when someone may need help.

R U OK? Chief Executive, Lachlan Searle said connection and belonging were essential in the prevention of suicide.
Ambassadors Garry and Shirley Semmens, retired mental health workers with lived experience, are among 150 volunteers who regularly speak at schools, workplaces and community events throughout the year.
