PEOPLE’S Choice: Nick Stathopoulos’ hyperrealist portrait A Brilliant Career (Margaret Fink) has been named the People’s Choice Award winner for the Archibald Prize 2026 exhibition at Shepparton Art Museum.
The portrait depicts Australian film and television producer Margaret Fink AO, best known for producing the 1979 film My Brilliant Career.
Visitors to SAM selected the work as their favourite from the 59 portraits on display.
SAM artistic director Danny Lacy said the portrait had captivated visitors with its realism and intricate detail.
“It’s a powerful work that draws you in,” he said.
