The late Paul Farren’s passion and commitment in developing the bicycle collection, and the era of the bicycle that is the focus of this world-renowned collection.

While the larger part of the collection is housed in Melbourne in a private museum and encompasses over 200 bicycles, a new home has been found for forty of those bicycles at MOVE making these amazing machines and the history embodied within them accessible to many more people.

Some of the best examples of bicycles from the Farren collections are at MOVE ranging from penny-farthings to a side by side sociable built in the period from 1850 to 1900 when a lot of the design problems were solved and all the major changes happened, pneumatic tyres, diamond frame and chain drives for example.
