THIS week is Legacy Week, and it’s a timely reminder of the work and support this wonderful organisation does for the families of those left behind. The week coincides with Legacy’s 100-year anniversary torch relay, which began in France in April and will pass through Shepparton on September 23, on its way to the Shrine of Remembrance.

Legacy provides support to the widows of servicemen with financial hardship, living with dignity at home, as well as health and safety, etc.

“If we don’t get support, the ladies are going to miss out,’ said Jack Thewliss, a 23-year member of Legacy Shepparton.

The Shepparton beneficiaries are predominantly in their 90s. After the stress of Covid and fear of a recession, now it is more important than ever to offer support to this wonderful charity.

“If you see a stall, please buy a badge or Teddy. Legacy Week is the only time we ask the community for help,” said Mr Thewliss.
