A message from Frank Papallo

MY first visit to the “old” Shepparton Motor Museum left me wanting more. I was surprised that we had this hidden gem in our backyard that I had previously known little about

While I would not call myself a “car person” in the true sense, I have always had an appreciation of cars and a casual coffee with Jim Andreadis enlightened me to the history of the Museum and its potential for the region.

Jim’s passion and enthusiasm was undeniable and infectious. By the end of that meeting I had become the new Finance Director of MOVE.

The next three years at MOVE were an experience to say the least.

As a collective we have experienced highs and lows, faced significant uncertainty and at times wondered how it might end

But throughout the entire process our resolve to finish what we started and do something great for Shepparton remained the driving force that has led to the completion of our facility

What we have achieved in regards to our new facility is an example of the benefits that can be realised when the private and public sectors come together with a common goal of serving the community.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our various funding groups, philanthropic families, executive team and volunteers that make MOVE such a unique community organisation

As we make the transition from project to reality, our challenge is building an enterprise that is sustainable for years to come.

Thanks to the generous support of our various donors, trades, volunteers and staff the upgrade is now complete. In the future we hope to add many more bells and whistles to make the museum and visitor experience as good as it can be.

With the outstanding appointment of Peter Hill as executive officer, I accepted the request of the board to take the vacant role of Chair, a great privilege. I am supported by a team from board to staff and volunteers that is second to none.

My goal is to ensure the viability and sustainability of the organisation now and well into the future, all while remembering and upholding the legacy of those that have been so pivotal to MOVE in the past.

MOVE is not mine or yours, it belongs to the community. It’s for us, our children, our visitors and our friends. It’s an opportunity for us now an in the future to pay homage Shepparton and its unique place in Australian history.
